Champions League: match of records at Bernabeu

Real Madrid vs Monaco 6-1

*Kylian Mbappé has scored already 11 goals in this season's Champions League: the joint-most by any player in a single group (league) stage in the competition, tying Cristiano Ronaldo in 2015-16.

*Mbappé has scored double-digit goals in a single season of an European competition for the first time in his career.

*Franco Mastantuono became the 3rd youngest player (18 years 159 days) to score with Real Madrid in the ChampionsLeague, after Endrick (18-058) and Raúl (18-113).

*Real Madrid fielded their youngest starting XI (average age of 24 years and 152 days) in the Champions League since December 2018 (against CSKA Moscow, 24 years and 100 days).

*Monaco suffered their worst ever defeat in European competitions, surpassing their 0-4 loss to Club Brugge in 2018 (Champions League) and another 0-4 defeat to Trabzonspor in 2022 (Europa League).

*Six goals is a maximum for French clubs to have conceded in a Champions League match against a foreign team. It happened 3 times before:
Bayern Munich 6-1 vs Lille on 7 November 2012,
Barcelona 6-1 vs Paris Saint-Germain on 8 March 2017,
Arsenal 6-0 vs Lens on 29 November 2023.

*Real Madrid have scored 5+ goals against a French opponent in UCL (including European Cup era) for the first time in the club history.

*Real Madrid have last scored 6 goals in a UCL match on 6 November 2019, when they beat Galatasaray 6-0.

*Álvaro Arbeloa is the 3rd Real Madrid coach who debuted in the European Cup/Champions League scoring 6 goals, after:
Fleitas Solich in 1959 (7-0 against La Jeunesse d'Esch),
Carlo Ancelotti in 2013 (6-1 against Galatasaray).

*Arbeloa became the first Real Madrid “canterano” (academy graduate) to participate in the Champions League as both a player and a coach for the club.
He made his playing debut in the competition for Real Madrid on 15 September 2009, against Zürich.
If we consider also the European Cup period, the closest precedent is that of José Antonio Camacho (42 matches for Real Madrid as a player between 1975 and 1988 and 3 matches as a coach in 2004).
