END OF SCORING RUNS
Three super forwards fired together
Yesterday, Erling Haaland ended his 12-game scoring run in all official games for club and country as Manchester City lost to Aston Villa (0-1) in the Premier League.
A day before, on 25 October, Harry Kane stopped his such individual run at 10 games; he failed to score in Bayern’s 3-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga.
Kylian Mbappe put an end to his scoring streak at 11 games on 22 October in a Champions League match Real Madrid vs Juventus (1-0).
These three streaks are the longest of their kind in top world football in 2025. It's quite remarkable that three world's best forwards completed them almost simultaneously.
Curiously also, for each of them the autumn 2025 streak became the career’s longest.
The next after them is Igor Sergeev with 9-game run (8 for Pakhtakor and 1 for Uzbekistan) from 13 April to 14 June.
It's almost certain that Haaland will remain the world’s top serial goalscorer in 2025, as there's too little time left for anyone to overtake him.
Couple of other notable series should be mentioned.
*Goduine Koyalipou (Central African Republic) finished in 2025 his run for clubs and country at 10 games; it started on 29 October 2024 when he played for CSKA Sofia. Until year change, he collected 9 scoring games in a row. Then he moved to Ligue 1 and added one more for Lens on 12 January.
*Peeter Phanthavong (Laos) had a 13-game run in his home league for the club Ezra between 14 September 2024 and 24 August 2025 (he scored at each of his 12 appearances in the 2024-25 season).
His run in all club/domestic games made 12 games (including national cup).
However, as the Lao league’s rank is low (beyond top 100 leagues), Phanthavong’s feat is here out of competition.
