THE RARE FEAT OF FISTON MAYELE

Mayele’s rare scoring feat in African football

DR Congo’s Fiston Mayele, who scored the winning goal for Pyramids vs RS Berkane (1-0) in the African Super Cup on October 18, has repeated a rare feat.
In the 2024-25 season, he scored in every round of the continental Champions League, including qualifying, up to the final, and then also in the subsequent Super Cup.
The last player before Mayele to do so was Angolan Flavio Amado in the 2008 season, playing for Al Ahly Cairo.
There are now four such players in the history of African football. Details are in the table.
It's worth noting that the structure of the Champions League competition has changed over the years, and the set of rounds has changed accordingly. If a round was missing (or if a team skipped it), a blank appears in the table in that position.
In Mayele's case, there were the most rounds (7, including the Super Cup).
Emmanuel Osei Kuffour's case in 2000 is unique in that the Ghanaian scored not only in every round, but also against every opponent he faced.
Of the two major modern club competitions under the auspices of the CAF, such a feat has so far only been accomplished in the Champions League.
In the second most important tournament, the Confederations Cup, no one has yet managed to score in all rounds and the Super Cup.
