Mbappe’s record tally at debut season in Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe has finished his first season in Real Madrid with a tally of 44 goals in all competitions. 
No one in the club’s history scored so much at the debut. The previous record belonged Fernando Sañudo and Ivan Zamorano who notched 37 goals each in their debut seasons in Real Madrid (1934-35 and 1992-93 respectively).

*The record for Spanich football in general still stays on. Ronaldo scored for Barcelona 47 goals across all competitions straight after signing for Blaugrana in 1996-97. 
The Brazilian was the only one (before Mbappe) who reached 40 goals in the strating season.

*Only 2 players in the Real Madrid history achieved better seasonal performance than Mbappe (considering any season in their career in Madrid): 
Cristiano Ronaldo (his top mark is 61 goals in 2014-15) and Ferenc Puskás (49 in 1959-60).
Karim Benzema’s personal maximum is also 44 (in 2021-22).
Alfredo Di Stéfano’s and Hugo Sánchez’s best mark is slightly below: 43 goals (in 1956-57 and 1986-87 resp.)

*Mbappe’s 44 goals in the best individual scoring performance in 2024-25 in top 5 European league.
