IFFHS PRESIDENT IN CHINA


H.E. Mr. Saleh Bahwini Attends Jiangsu Provincial City – China Football League Match and Visits Pioneering Women’s Football School in Wuxi

On July 20, 2025, the Jiangsu Provincial City – China Football League match between Wuxi and Huai’an was successfully concluded, drawing a live audience of 30,189 spectators. The intense competition between the “Pearl of Taihu” and the “Famed City of Jianghuai” transcended the final score, symbolizing the deep-rooted pride, cultural spirit, and football passion of both cities.

His Excellency Mr. Salah Bahwini, President of the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS), attended the match and praised the high level of play and the vibrant football culture flourishing in Jiangsu Province.

As part of his official mission, H.E. Mr. Bahwini visited, on July 21, the women’s football team of Jiangyin No. 2 Secondary School in Wuxi. Known as one of the birthplaces of women’s football in China, the school has produced eight national team players and received numerous domestic and international honors



H.E. Mr. Bahwini commended the school’s long-standing contributions to youth football development, emphasizing its dedication to excellence, discipline, and player development. He expressed his strong support and high expectations for the future of Chinese football, particularly in empowering the next generation of female players.

This visit forms part of the core missions and objectives of the IFFHS—to support the advancement and development of football and footballers worldwide.

In this context, H.E. the President extends his sincere appreciation to the Government of China and the Mayor of Wuxi for their warm hospitality, constructive collaboration, and shared vision. He affirmed that with China’s immense capabilities and growing infrastructure, the nation is well-positioned to bring its national teams to the ranks of the world’s top 10 football powers, thereby enhancing the level of global football competitiveness.
