Statistics on Champions’ League: Semi-finals, 1st leg (April 30)

Barcelona vs Inter 3-3

*It is the joint-highest draw in a Champions League semi-final along with:
Dynamo Kyiv vs Bayern München 3-3 on 7 April 1999 (also 1st leg).
In European Cup era, there were another 2 such draws in semifinals:
Real Madrid vs Manchester United 3-3 on 15 May 1968 (2nd leg),
Nottingham vs Köln 3-3 on 11 April 1979 (1st leg).

*It is the first Champions League semi-final game to have 4 goals before half-time since Valencia vs Barcelona on 2 May 2000 (3-1, final score 4-1).

*Barcelona remain unbeaten in their 7 home games vs Inter in the Champions League (5 wins, 2 draws).

*Two Inter away matches vs Barça under Simone Inzaghi ended with the same score (also 3-3 at Camp Nou on 12 October 2022, group stage).

*Inter have named the oldest starting XI (30 years 56 days), in a UCL semi-final since Juventus against Monaco in the 2016-17 second leg (30 years 311 days).

*Inter are the first team to score 3+ goals in a Champions League knockout stage match, with less than 30% ball possession.

*Marcus Thuram became the first French goal scorer for an Italian team in the semi-finals of the Champions League since David Trezeguet with Juventus against Real Madrid on 14 May 2003.

*Thuram’s goal after 30 seconds became the earliest in a semi-final or final in Champions League history. 
The next earliest scorers are:
Paolo Maldini  for Milan vs Liverpool (3-3) on 25 May 2005 after 51 seconds (final),
Kevin De Bruyne for Manchester City vs Real Madrid on 26 April 2022 after 1 minute 34 seconds (semi-final).
The previous earliest semi-final goal in the competition including European Cup era was scored by George Connelly (Celtic) after 45 seconds against Leeds (1-0) on 1 April 1970.

*Inter started a Champions League knockout tie by scoring in the first minute of the first leg for the second time. 
They also did so in a quarter-final against Schalke (2-5) on 5 April 2011 thanks to a Dejan Stankovic goal after 25 seconds.
These 2 goals are also the Inter's earliest in the Champions League. 

*It is the second-earliest goal conceded by Barcelona in the Champions League, behind only Alexandre Pato's goal for Milan in 2011 after 25 seconds.

*Denzel Dumfries became the first Inter's player to score a brace in a Champions League semi-final. 

*Dumfries is the first Dutch player to both score and assist in a Champions League semi-final since Wesley Sneijder (also for Inter against Barcelona) and the first Dutch player ever to be involved in 3+ goals in a Champions League semi-final (2 goals, 1 assist). 

*Dumfries is the first defender to score 2 goals against Barcelona in a single Champions League match.

*Lamine Yamal, at the age of 17 years 291 days, became only the second under-18 player in Champions League history to start a semi-final after Julian Draxler (17 years 226 days) for Schalke vs Manchester United at Old Trafford on 4 May 2011.

*Yamal has made more appearances in the UCL knockout rounds before turning 18 than any other player (9). 

*Yamal is now the youngest player to score in a Champions League semi-final. The next in this ranking are:
Kylian Mbappé at 18 years 140 days (in 2017),
Obafemi Martins at 18 years 197 days,
Nordin Wooter at 19 years 237 days,
Matthijs De Ligt at 19 years 269 days.

*Yamal is the first player in UCL history to score 5 goals before the age of 18.

*Two Spanish players (Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres) have scored for Barcelona in the same European Cup semi-final match for the first time since 2012 (Busquets and Iniesta scored against Chelsea in the 2-2 draw).

*Raphinha became the first player to provide 8 assists in a season in the Champions League since James Milner in 2017-18 (also 8).

*Raphinha is the first ever Barcelona player to be directly involved in 20 goals in a single Champions League campaign (12 goals, 8 assists).
He surpassed Lionel Messi's tally of 19 (14 goals, 5 assists) in 2011-12.
Only Cristiano Ronaldo has been involved in more goals in a single Champions League campaign (21 for Real Madrid in 2013-14) than Raphinha this season. 

*Hansi Flick's teams (Bayern and Barcelona) have scored at least 2 goals in each of their 15 Champions League home matches.

*Barça have won 7 of 14 European knockout ties after drawing the first leg at home.
Inter have won 15 of 21 European knockout ties after drawing the first leg away from home.
