SERGIO RAMOS SCORED THE 10.000th GOAL IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE HISTORY

10,000th goal and other Sergio Ramos feats in UCL

*Sergio Ramos has scored yesterday for Sevilla (vs PSV 2-3) the 10,000th goal in the Champions League history (taking into account only main stage of the tournament).
31 years and 4 days have passed since the very first goal scored by Daniel Amokachi (Club Brugge) in 1992.

*It was his first goal for Sevilla after return in the club. His last goal for Sevilla is dated back on 14 May 2005 (vs Real Madrid).
The gap between 2 consecutive goals for the club: 18 years 199 days.

*It was his 16th goal in Champions League. He equaled Roberto Carlos and Gerard Piqué as the tournament’s joint-highest scoring defender of all time.

*Ramos has scored before another UCL milestone goal, the 6000th – but hitting in that occasion his own net. It happened in 2013 in the game for Real Madrid vs Man United.

*At the age of 37 years 244 days, Sergio Ramos became the oldest Spanish scorer (and the 4th oldest overall) in Champions League history, surpassing beating Pedro Rodríguez (36 years 89 days).

*The series of Ramos feats, however, coincided with Sevilla's early elimination from the Champions League. And this means that Ramos has broken his streak. Previously, he had made it past the group stage in all 17 seasons he had played in (16 with Real Madrid and 1 with PSG).
The players with the most seasons without ever being eliminated at the group stage remain Leo Messi (19) and Karim Benzema (18).
