France vs Gibraltar 14-0: match of records!

*It is the biggest win ever recorded in a qualifying match (either of World Cup or Euro) between European teams, surpassing Germany's 13-0 defeat of San Marino in 2006.

*France are the first European team to score 14+ goals in a match since Denmark did so against Iceland in a friendly in Copenhagen in 1967 that ended 14-2.

*A match between two European national teams with goal difference of 14+ was last played on 1 July 1912 (Germany vs Russia 16-0, in the Olympic tournament).

*France have already participated in the game with such a huge goal difference but as a suffering side (1-17 defeat against Denmark in 1908, in the Olympic tournament).

*France overcame by far their previous record of largest win (10-0 against Azerbaijan on 6 September 1995).

*10 different scorers (including an opponent who committed own goal) for France is also a new record; in the just mentioned game vs Azerbaijan, there was 9 different scorers.

*Warren Zaïre-Emery became the 3rd youngest player to appear in an international game for France (17 years 255 days old).
Two players who debutted being younger, are Félix Vial (in 1911, 17 years 76 days) and Maurice Gastiger (in 1914, 17 years 128 days).

*Zaïre-Emery, scoring one of goals, became also the 2nd youngest goal-scorer in the history of French team, after Maurice Gastiger (in 1914, 17 years 156 days).
Eduardo Camavinga is the third in this ranking (scored at 17 years 332 days in 2020).

*Kylian Mbappé for the first time in his career has scored hat-tricks in 2 consecutive games (he did it also in a league game vs Reims on 11 November).

*Also, for the first time in his career, Mbappé was involved in 7 goals in a single game (3 goals, 4 assists).

*The last of Mbappé’s 3 goals was 300th top-level goal in his career. He is the first player in XXI century to reach this milestone before turning 25. That means that he has reached it earlier than both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
