Africa intensify World Cup preparations

The 5 countries to represent the continent have  played a match each in their preparations for the FIFA Qatar 2022 Finals. Senegal, Tunisia and Morocco scored wins, contrasting with defeats for Cameroon and Ghana.

At Stade de la Source in Orléans, France, Senegal overpowered Bolivia 2-0 courtesy of Boulaye Dia on 4 minutes and Sadio Mané’s penalty on 44’. Tunisia edged Comoros at the same stadium 1-0 through a 57th minute goal by Taha Yassine Khenissi. Morocco outran Chile 2-0 at the Cornellà-El Prat stadium in Llobregat, Spain. Sofiane Boufal’s  66th minute penalty had been followed by the second goal through substitute Abdelhamid Sabiri on 78 minutes. Ghana received a 3-0 trouncing from Brazil at the Stade Océane, Le Havre, France. Marcos Aoas Correa had raised the curtains on 9 minutes. Richarlison de Andrade made it a brace on the day on 28 and 40 minutes. And at the Goyang stadium in South Korea, Uzbekistan silenced Cameroon 2-0. Khojimat Erkinov and Oston Urunov had scored on 24 and 76 minutes, respectively.

The Africa World Cup representatives have a match each before the FIFA window closes next week as follows: Senegal vs Iran, Ghana vs Nicaragua, Tunisia vs Brazil, Cameroon vs South Korea and Morocco vs Paraguay.
