*It was Barcelona's eighth consecutive match (in all competitions) without playing at home. There was only one other such streak in the club's history, quite recently (in January 2021).

*Barça made 8th comeback this season (in all competitions): one shy of the statistics of 2024-25 season (nine comebacks).

*Robert Lewandowski became the 2nd Barça player with a goal and an own goal in a European Cup/Champions League match, after Abelardo (vs PSV in 1997).

*Slavia became the 39th opponent Lewandowski has scored against in the Champions League. Only Lionel Messi scored against more (40). Cristiano Ronaldo is the next with 38 different victims.

*Lewandowski has become the second oldest goalscorer (aged 37 years and 153 days) in the Champions League with a Spanish side, after Sergio Ramos with Sevilla in December 2023 (37 years 257 days). 

*Lewandowski became the 4th player in the European Cup/Champions League history to score 20+ goals for two clubs (69 for Bayern, 20 for Barcelona), along with:
Neymar (22 for PSG, 21 for Barcelona),
Cristiano Ronaldo (105 for Real Madrid, 21 for Manchester United),
Harry Kane (26 for Bayern, 21 for Tottenham).

*Marseille extended their run of Champions League games without a draw to 31 (8 wins, 23 losses), while Liverpool haven't drawn any of their last 28 (20 wins, 8 losses). It's the two longest runs without a draw in the competition's history. 

*Virgil van Dijk has played his 36th consecutive Champions League match without a draw. He beat the tournament’s record of Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos who hasn’t yet tied any of his 35 Champions League matches (27 wins, 8 losses).

*Mohamed Salah has made his 88th appearance in major European competitions for Liverpool, moving level with Ian Callaghan; only Jamie Carragher (130) and Steven Gerrard (111) have now made more for the Reds.

*Before this game, Atlético were another club with long drawless series in Champions league (23 matches: 16 wins, 7 losses).
Their last draw was in October 2023 (2-2 against Celtic).

*Athletic have won their 2nd match against an Italian opposition away from home in their history in European competitions after beating Sampdoria in UEFA Cup in September 1997.
