Mbappe’s first poker in UCL

Kylian Mbappé has scored past night his first poker in Champions League, in an away game vs Olympiacos (4-3).
It is the 6th poker achieved by Real Madrid players in the competition, since European Cup creation in 1955. 
Hugo Sanchez’s poker vs Swarovski Tirol (9-1) on 24 October 1990 is not included in the list (below) as his 2nd goal, though being credited to him, was actually a goalkeeper Linderberger’s own goal (the ball rebounded off him in the net after Sanchez hit the post). 

*Other cases with Real Madrid scoring 4 goals in one match (of any competition), all by the same player:
12 November 2006, 4-1 away win vs Osasuna (Ruud Van Nistelrooy),
8 November 2008: 4-3 home win vs Málaga (Gonzalo Higuaín).

*Mbappé became the 2nd player to score 4 goals in a 4-3 Champions League victory. The first was Josip Iličić on 10 March 2020 for Atalanta in away win vs Valencia.

*Mbappé became the second French player in history to score 4 goals in a Champions League match, after Bafétimbi Gomis with Lyon against Dinamo Zagreb on 7 December 2011.

*Mbappe set the new UCL record for away hat-tricks (4), surpassing Filippo Inzaghi (3).

*Mbappé leveled Cristiano Ronaldo for away hat-tricks with Real Madrid in the Champions League, 2 for each (CR7 made his feats in 2012 and 2013).
Total number of Real Madrid’s away UCL hat-tricks is now 6 (also Ronaldo in 2003 and Benzema in 2022).

*Mbappé scored his 3rd hat-trick for Real Madrid in Champions League (since 1992). Only Cristiano Ronaldo (7) and Karim Benzema (4) scored more.
Overall, Real Madrid players scored 18 hat-tricks in the competition (also Raúl, Ronaldo, Rodrygo and Vinicius, 1 each).
Including European Cup era, Alfredo Di Stéfano and Ferenc Puskás enter the ranking with 5 each.

*His 2-1 goal in the game became his just first headed goal for Real Madrid.
Of his 64 goals in the Champions League, only 3 were scored with his head (also against Bayern in 2017 and against Club Brugge in 2019, both for PSG).

*Mbappé's 64 UCL goals are made up of 28 scored at home and 36 away.
Only two players with more than 30 goals in the competition have scored more goals away than at home. Another one is Rivaldo: 31 goals in total, 14 at home and 17 away.

*Mbappé’s previous highest seasonal tally in UCL was 8 goals (twice, in 2020-21 and in 2023-24 with PSG). Now, he has already 9 goals after just 5 first matches.
He surpassed also Cristiano Ronaldo's career best, who netted 8 goals for Real Madrid after 5 first UCL games in the 2013-14 and 2017-18 seasons.
