REFEREE FRANCOIS LETEXIER HONOURED IN PARIS
The winner of the IFFHS MEN’S WORLD BEST REFEREE Award 2024, François Letexier ,received yesterday his Trophy from the hands of the winner of IFFHS MEN’S WORLD BEST REFEREE Award 1988 and 1989, Michel Vautrot !
Michel Vautrot was the first and only french referee to win the IFFHS Referee World award before … François Letexier.
It was an intense and emotional moment to see Michel Vautrot find his successor François Letexier after36 years . Michel Vautrot was the referee of EURO final 1988 , Netherlands-CCCP. François Letexier was the referee of EURO final 2024, Spain-England.
The President of the Federation Française de football, Philippe Diallo and many personalities of the World of Referees were present at the event where Stephanie Frappart, who won the IFFHS Award of WOMEN’S WORLD BEST REFEREE 5 times in a row (2019 to 2023), received also her last Trophy. The french referee union organized this event and awarded also the referee teams for their great performances.
