IFFHS CONTINENTAL NEWS - CHAN DAY 15

Picture : Madagascar qualified for quarter final !

Madagascar for Quarterfinals. Burkina Faso, Mauritania out!

At the start of concluding group matches there are tears of joy here, anguish that way. It was not different at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar City. Both Burkina Faso and Madagascar had their lives on the line. It will be  CFFA Club forward Gilles Razafimaro Fenohasina to light up Malagasy hopes with a projectile from 30 meters to register a 7th minute opener. Burkina Faso rightly reacted to the wakeup call in the 25th minute through AS Douanes forward, Souleymane Sangare whose pinpoint header following a cross by Hanaby Sagne gave the keeper no chance. They would have taken the lead at the ultimate moment of the half had someone capitalized on a lose ball coming out of the goalie's grip. The match winner for Madagascar came in on 58 minutes following a VAR check to confirm foul on Malagasy forward Fenohasina Razafimaro was a justified penalty. Rafanomezantsoa Nomena of CFFA  Club  transformed to land Madagascar a 2/1 victory. Malagasy goalkeeper Michel Toldo Lalain's great performance was rewarded with the MvP award.

The match between Tanzania and Central Africa Republic played simultaneously closed on a 0/0 tie with Tanzanian Feisal Salum Abdallah of AZAM FC taking home the Mvp trophy.

Sunday's fixtures: Dr Congo vs Morocco, Kenya vs Zambia.
