SERHOU GUIRASSY MOST PROLIFIC
Guirassy, most prolific African one-season scorer in UCL
Serhou Guirassy's 13 Champions League goals this season is the most ever scored by an African player in a single campaign in the competition.
Borussia Dortmund striker has surpassed the previous best mark of Sébastien Haller (11 goals for Ajax) in 2021-22.
Guirassy said good-bye to this UCL season in the quarter-final stage with a hat-trick against Barcelona (3-1) that became the first ever triplet by an African player in the history of competition in the knockout stages starting from quarter-finals onwards.
Overall in the history of major European club competitions, Guirassy concedes now to only one African player (Ayoub Al Kaabi) for number of goals in a single season. Al Kaabi scored 16 goals for Olympiacos in 2023-24 (5 in Europe League, 11 in Conference League).
