Bayern vs Real Madrid: most common rivalry in European competitions

The rivalry between Real Madrid and Bayern is the most popular in the history of major European club competitions. This pair of teams met each other 26 times, significantly more often than any other.
They will meet twice again in the upcoming Champions League semi-final, moving their joint record to 28 games.
So far, Bayern are slightly ahead of their most constant rival in the number of victories: 12 vs 11.
The table presents the most frequent duels (15 and more head-to-head games), with a breakdown of match outcomes (W, D, L - wins, draws and losses of team 1) and tournaments.
Remarkably, in each of these pairs there is always one of the Spanish giants, Real Madrid or Barcelona.
Basically, the balances in pairs are more or less equal. But there are exceptions: Barcelona cope quite easily with Inter (8 wins against 3), but has a disastrous balance against Bayern (2 wins against 11).
