All-time best top division goal-scorers: Colombia (Part 27)
Sergio Galván Rey holds the Colombian league goal-scoring record since 25 April 2010. On this day, he netted his 218th goal and surpassed the previous top scorer Iván René Valenciano.
Galván finished his career in 2021 at the tally of 224 in 589 games.
Since the inception of Colombian national league in 1948, the mark of 200 goals was reached by 7 players; 3 of them are Argentineans and 4 Colombians, including one active player Dayro Moreno.
Moreno (37 years) has scored his 200th goal on 26 February this year in the game for Once Caldas vs Millonarios (1-0).
Having now 210 goals at his tally, Moreno is headed for breaking the Galván’s record, as well as another one belonging to Víctor Hugo Aristizábal as the greatest Colombian historical scorer. Aristizábal has registered 346 top level goals in total for clubs and country; Moreno accumulates 319 at the moment.
Back to Colombian league, the mark of 150 goals is reached by 28 players (they are listed in the table); the mark of 100 goals by 97 players.
Antony de Ávila holds the record on goals scored for a single club, 208 for América Cali; the last of them at the age of 46 years 315 days (the oldest ever goals in Colombian top division).
Once Caldas was previously named Deportes Caldas.
