Gold Cup statistics on quarter-finals

*Ismael Díaz (Panama) has achieved in the game vs Qatar (4-0) the fastest hat-trick in the entire history of the Gold Cup (in 9 minutes).
He surpasses Luis Alves “Zague”'s (Mexico) 3 goals in 11 minutes against Martinique in the 1993 group stage and Frantzdy Pierrot's (Haiti) 3 goals in 11 minutes against Bermuda in the 2021 preliminary phase.

*Ismael Díaz’s hat-trick is 6th in the Gold Cup history scored in knock-out stage; the last one to achieve it was Clint Dempsey (USA) in 2015.

*Mexico is the team that faced the same rival (Costa Rica) the most times (9) in the Gold Cup without ever losing: 6 wins (including yesterday’s 2-0 win) and 3 draws.

*Costa Rica have been eliminated 9 times in the quarter-finals, more than any other team in Gold Cup history.

*Mexico have won the quarter-final in all of the last 9 editions of the Gold Cup. They have lost at this stage last time in 2005 (1-2 against Colombia).

*Guatemala faced Jamaica 5 times in the Gold Cup history and always lost (including today’s 0-1 defeat).
This is 3rd largest all-winning (or all-losing) balance among all possible rivalries, prevailed only by United States against Cuba and United States against El Salvador (6 USA wins from 6 games in each case).

*Jamaica got in semi-finals for 4th time in last 5 editions. Putting aside the giants Mexico and USA, only Honduras have such a successful series: 4 semi-finals out of 5 consecutive editions between 2005 and 2013.

*USA (after 2-2 and shoot-outs win over Canada) have advanced to the Gold Cup semi-finals for 16th time (competition’s record). Mexico have 14 semi-finals; the next are Costa Rica and Jamaica with 6.
