Celso Borges, third most capped player in Gold Cup history

Celso Borges, a Costa-Rican midfielder, starting in today’s CONCACAF Gold Cup quarter-final vs Mexico, takes solely the third position in the competition’s historical ranking for players with most appearances (29).
The record holder is Landon Donovan who has played 34 times for USA in 6 Gold Cup editions between 2002 and 2013.
At the moment, 7 players have reached the mark of 25 games; 4 of them are Panamanians including Alberto Quintero who achieved it also in today’s quarter-final (vs Qatar 4-0).
Román Torres (Panama) and Michael Bradley (USA) are also still active but don’t play for his national team currently.
The details are in the table. Only appearances in the finals stages of the competitions are considered (without qualifiers).
