REAL MADRID'S 8th CLUB WORLD CUP TITLE

Club World Cup statistics on final (11 February)

*Real Madrid have achieved their 8th title of the World club champion since 1960 (twice more than next multi-winners Bayern and Milan) and 5th with the current format of competition, since 2000.

*It is the first time in the entire history of the Club World Cup/Intercontinental Cup that as many as 8 goals have been scored in a final (Real Madrid vs Al Hilal 5-3).
This final has surpassed the 7 goals of the second leg of 1962 edition Benfica vs Santos (2-5) in Lisbon on 11 October 1962.

*It is the first time that a team (Real Madrid) has scored 5+ goals in a single-match final in the entire history of the Club World Cup/Intercontinental Cup.

*Carlo Ancelotti has equaled the record among coaches on world club champion titles (3 in total, 2 with Real Madrid and 1 with Milan). Also Pep Guardiola (2 with Barcelona, 1 with Bayern) and Carlos Bianchi (2 with Boca Juniors, 1 with Vélez Sarsfield) won the competition 3 times.

*Toni Kroos is the sole record holder among players. He won the Club World Cup 6 times (5 with Real Madrid, 1 with Bayern). His club-mates Karim Benzema, Dani Carvajal and Nacho Fernández have 5 titles each.

*Given that Kroos also won the 2014 World Cup with Germany, he has been 7 times World champion for clubs and country, an unprecedented milestone in the history of football.

*Vinicius (Real Madrid) is the 3rd player to score 2+ goals and give 1+ assist in a Club World Cup/Intercontinental Cup final after Ferenc Puskás (Real Madrid) in 1960 and Pelé (Santos) in 1962.

*Vinicius became the youngest player to score a brace in the Club World Cup final (22 years 214 days) surpassing Lionel Messi (24 years 177 days).

*Federico Valverde (Real Madrid) is the 4th Uruguayan player to score a brace in a Club World Cup/Intercontinental Cup final after Pepe Sasía (Peñarol) in 1961, Santiago Ostolaza (Nacional) in 1988 and Luis Suárez (Barcelona) in 2015.

*Moussa Marega (Al Hilal) is the fourth African player to score in a Club World Cup/Intercontinental Cup final after Rabah Madjer (Porto) in 1987, Samuel Kuffour (Bayern Munich) in 2001 and Samuel Eto'o (Inter) in 2010.
