TotalEnergies Afcon  Ivory Coast 2023 Qualifiers first 2 match days kickoff .

As group stage qualifying matches for the TotalEnergies AFCON Ivory Coast 2023 rumbled off this past weekend, the main news came from the Senegal versus Benin game in whicha hat trick by Sadio Mané made him the highest scorer yet for the Teranga Lions of Senegal. In another newsworthy outing, South Sudan played their very first AFCON group stage qualifier losing to Gambia 0-1. They had emerged from the preliminary round trouncing Djibouti 5-2. Cameroon rather played a test match at home which registered a 4-1 defeat of the home-based team at the hands of the professionals who were in full regalia for the warm up.Cameroon’s opponents Kenya, just like Liberia opponents, Zimbabwe had been dropped by CAF from the qualifiers because of the government’s political meddling in the running of the football federation affairs.

Days 3 & 4 get played 19-27 September and the group stage qualifiers close with days 5 & 6 scheduled for 20-28 March 2023. The TotalEnergies AFCON Ivory Coast 2023 kicks off on 23 June 2023.
